Glass Garage Doors with Uneven Slope
August 19, 2015
Garage doors with an uneven sloped threshold are saddled with a unique set of challenges when in comes to installation. In situations like this many manufacturers do not offer solutions, but ArmRLite is different. We have developed a custom sloped bottom section or rail for our welded aluminum garage door models that directly addresses this problem.

Glass Garage Doors with Uneven or Sloped Thresholds
An installation of a standard bottom glass garage door on an uneven threshold, which most experienced dealer/installers will advise against, may void your warranty and negatively impact the lifespan of your door by adding stress on the sections, hinges, and parts. The space beneath the bottom section also allows access for rodents, bugs, or intruders as well as affect any energy efficient or insulation needs the building may need.
Due to ArmRLite’s exclusive welded construction and the superior strength of our doors we can and have been engineering and fabricating sloping bottom rails or sections for applications like the one pictured. Sloped or uneven bottom rails and sections are available in either commercial or residential welded aluminum models only. The sloping bottom rail does not negatively affect the warranty or structural integrity of our welded aluminum models, ensuring our doors will operate admirably for decades and retain their exclusive 20 year welded frame warranty.
ArmRLite’s custom sloping bottom rail is available either fixed or hinged depending on the requirements of the project. Please contact our sales and customer service department with any questions regarding our sloping bottom rails, we would be glad to discuss your project’s needs with you.
