Custom clad garage doors can be a beautifully unique feature on a given project and can be customized based on the job’s needs. Custom cladding on a garage door is different than custom panels. Where custom panel are fixed within the aluminum frame of our doors, custom cladding is fixed to the exterior face of the door on top of the rails and stiles.
Many times with custom cladding the underlying frame will contain solid panel or 1/8” tempered glass, however options such as mesh panels, perforated panels, and other inserts can be used if needed to reach a desired “look”.
Custom cladding for garage doors can be made using a metal, wood, or composite and we highly recommend contacting ArmRLite prior to specifying custom cladding to ensure the proper operation of the door.

In 2014, the Carnegie Hall Tower project in New York was well into construction and had reach the point of requiring custom clad garage doors that would fit into the design needs of the project. Advanced Door Sales based in Franklin, NJ was the contacted dealer/installer for the sectional door scope of the project and provided two welded ArmRLite doors that more than fit the bill.
The two custom clad doors incorporate a sloping bottom section in addition to an insulated metal cladding to match the adjacent façade. Both doors contain welded aluminum frames and are warrantied for 20 years against sagging or separating sections.
