Aluminum and Glass Garage Doors: Model Comparisons

May 23, 2014

The Electra, Titan, and Custom CI models are the most often specified aluminum and glass garage doors we manufacture. Since they are our most popular models, they also generate the most questions from architects, designers, and building owners. The most commonly asked question is “What is the difference between the Electra, Titan, and Custom CI Models?”

Electra, Titan, and Custom CI Aluminum and Glass Garage Doors

  • Electra: The Electra Model is the most popular of our welded aluminum and glass models. With a maximum width of up to 16’-2”, the Electra Model is best suited for standard duty applications such as homes and service stations. The Electra model is not wind load tested and is not compatible with our ADA compliant pass door. The Electra Model can, however, accommodate our 4” step over pass door.
  • Titan: The Titan Model is our second most popular aluminum and glass garage door model. With a maximum width of up to 24’-2”, the Titan Model is best suited for standard to heavy duty applications such as fire stations or commercial buildings. The Titan Model is wind load tested and compatible with either our 4” step over pass door or our ADA compliant pass door.
  • Custom CI: The Custom CI Model is constructed of welded aluminum 4-sided extrusions just as the Electra and Titan. However, the Custom CI can be fabricated up to 30’-2” wide and is best for oversized or industrial applications. The Custom CI is wind load tested and compatible with our 4” step over pass door.

The Electra, Titan, and Custom CI Models are all available with our exclusive 20 year welded frame warranty. For a more in-depth look at how our models compare, check out our downloadable aluminum and glass garage door Comparison Chart.
