Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises: Untapped Potential
May 7, 2014
Certified minority and women owned businesses are a powerful resource for contractors, builders, architects, and developers in the construction and manufacturing industries. Those working and bidding government and equality conscious projects have noticed an increasing trend in the demand for certified minority business enterprises when awarding contracts. Most government projects and a growing number of private sector projects require a percentage of materials and or labor come from a certified minority business enterprise. Helping a project meet this required percentage minimum can make all the difference in winning or loosing a contract.
Women’s Business Enterprise: ArmRLite Door Manufacturing Co., Inc.
Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) is one example of a minority business designation accepted in the construction and manufacturing industries. ArmRLite is a certified WBE manufacturer of overhead sectional garage doors and has been in operation for more then 60 years. WBE is a documented certification that qualifies ArmRLite as an acceptable minority business and a powerful resource for bidding contractors and sub-contractors.
